With the Hutt River running along eight holes, Te Marua Golf club provides a historic and fun yet challenging course! This 18 hole golf course has an average degree of difficulty, including a few bunkers which shows the original design has lasted all these years. The course is located at the northern end of Upper Hutt next to the Te Marua speedway complex.

Play at the home of New Zealand Golf

Often referred to as 'the home of New Zealand golf' because of its long history and pedigree, the Royal Wellington Golf Club's 27 holes offer three different 18-hole layouts surrounded by beautiful native bush, a river and streams. The club was founded in 1895 and moved to its current site over 100 years ago. It has hosted seven NZ Open Championships since 1912 and in 2004 it became the first golf club in the country to receive royal status. Royal Wellington is a private members club. There is however, limited access for visitors, particularly during the week.

Set in park-like surrounds, this layout is a challenge for all golfers. The course is fully irrigated and intensively groomed with reasonably narrow fairways. The greens are large, sand-based and subtlety contoured. They run true and are generally fast. Most of the greens are guarded by sand bunkers, grass knolls and hollows which add to the challenge when your approach shots miss the target.

There is also a golf pro shop, practice bunker, chipping and putting greens, and the bunkers cafe.

Manor Park Golf sanctuary beside State Highway 2, just 20 minutes north of CBD Wellington City is somewhat unique as it is a golf and wildlife park, and the Club holds an internationally recognised sanctuary environmental certification from Audubon International, New York. It has an 18-hole championship par 71 golf course set in beautiful native bush and wetlands with gently rolling fairways bordered by the Hutt River on the eastern side, the Haywards Stream to the west and is home to 20 different species of bird.

Shandon Golf Club is a challenging par 70, 18 hole golf course. Known as the 'Hidden Treasure' of Wellington Golf, it is a beautiful course has been where it is today since 1927. The 5630m course is not too long, but it is challenging by design. The Club has complete practice facilities with practice chipping and putting greens, and practice fairways. Much investment has been made over the ensuring years to ensure Shandon remains a favourite destination in Wellington for the discerning golfer and the course will test the skill of any golfer without leaving out the beginner.

Just 30 minutes from Wellington is where you'll find Trentham Camp Golf Club hosting an 18 hole course with flat, tree-lined par 71 course rooted in the neighbouring Trentham Army Base’s history. Along with the usual golfing hazards, you'll also find nature abounds with Tui, Kererū and other wild life bordering the course.

You'll find Wainuiomata is a relaxing and friendly club. Whether it's a full round or a couple of hours to play 9 holes, they'll fit you in, and even match you with other golfers of similar abilities if you prefer. Play relaxed golf in a wonderful natural setting. This course is located just 25 minutes from the Wellington CBD and 15 minutes from central Lower Hutt – no planes, trains or motorways to disturb your conversation. Soak up a natural setting where Tui, Lorikeet and Kererū adorn the bush clad hills that are part of the surrounding countryside.
