Street-sized kitchen on Jackson Street

Travel the world in 800 metres on Petone’s Jackson Street. Here you’ll find everything for an incredible picnic or meal at home, the tools to create it and the tableware to serve it

I drive from south Wellington to Petone to visit UK Goodies who are the best British store in town and get my UK fix!

The Dutch Shop at 89 Jackson Street opened 20+ years ago because the owners missed great biscotti. Biscotti is now sold alongside salty liquorice, crunchy speculaas and Gouda with nettle, cumin and pepper.

Across the road, cardamom wafts out to greet you at The Spice Rack, the perfect stop for curry supplies and flavours for soups and stews.

Hungry yet? Jackson Street is spoilt for choice with 60+ great cafes in 800m, which means eating and shopping is the order of the day.

The House of Knives is famous for letting customers try before they buy. With over 6500 items in stock that’s a lot of kitchen loot for any keen cook or hard-to-buy for foodie. Find knives, cleavers, cake decorations, clogs, saw bones, thermometers and more.

Now’s the time to think of dressing your meal at The Table. Shop here for quality cutlery, dinnerware, glassware and damask linen at affordable prices. Their 1300 stock pieces of dinnerware make this a great chance to replace that lost or broken piece too.
