H2O Xtream is home to the sliding sensation 'Darkness Falls' - a pitch black fast & furious water slide. Entry gives access to the waves, rapid river ride, lane swimming and the spa, sauna and steam room are available to adults at no extra cost. There is also a creche and a café, all only a 30 minute drive from downtown Wellington.
The Boatshed Days Bay
The Boatshed has been in operation for over 40 years supplying equipment to people wanting to explore the area in a slightly different way. They have single and double kayaks, stand up paddle boards and mountain bikes for hire. Set up to cater for those who really want to enjoy and explore the outdoors in the Eastbourne area - mountain bike down to Pencarrow Lighthouse or paddle around in a single or double kayak in the shallow waters of one of Wellington's safest beaches. Alternatively, challenge yourself on one of the stand up paddleboards.

Often spotted by park-goers for a free spontaneous water adventure, take the kids and a change of clothes to the oscillating water fountains at Riddiford Gardens in central Lower Hutt. Picnic in the playground and check out the bird aviaries nearby. If you go just on twilight or alter you'll enjoy a multi-coloured fountain mini-light show.
