This exhibition has taken Mark Dimock sixty years to produce - Mark grew up playing on the beaches and climbing the cliffs in Titahi Bay, and these landscapes continue to influence his work today particularly for this exhibition.
As well as being primarily a painter, Mark is also a popular and very creative sculpture artist. Although the two mediums are different, they are often directly connected and influence each other. 'I find my work is mainly about the conflict between balance, colour and line. I am continually revisiting my earlier works, gaining inspiration and further developing the original ideas.' Says Mark.
This exhibition features paintings on wood, canvas, aluminium and sculptures incorporating wood and found objects from the farm. The artworks have been influenced by his earlier artworks and also by the great melting pot of artists who have come before him.
