Fallen Robot

A reminder of the Hutt Valley's industrial past, the Fallen Robot is a delight for all.

Lying horizontal and completely surrounded by water, the Fallen Robot is a wonder for all to see, with shining bronze eyes and teeth it has personality.

Some will delight in seeing a robot who has 'fallen down' and others will wonder at it's meaning, a look into the pre-industrial age in the Hutt Valley when locals collected water and grew and gathered food juxtapositioned with the industrialisation of the valley.

The Fallen Robot was designed by Melbourne-based New Zealand artist Ronnie van Hout and commissioned by the E Tu Awakairangi Hutt Public Art Trust.
