101 Must-Do Weekends

Hutt City has a great opportunity to show New Zealand what we have to offer as a tourism location and win some great prizes in the process.  AA launched their very successful 101 Must-Do Weekends on Sunday 30 March.  This year the Must-Do Weekends has a more interactive programme where the public can enter their own stories and photos directly on their website – www.aatravel.co.nz

If someone knows of an activity that a visitor should do in Hutt City then they should get this out to the world through the AA website.  We need people to be inspired by what Hutt City has to offer and this interactivity is a great way to do that.

Every restaurant, accommodation provider, transport operator and attraction would add some weight to their own website and their product by going on-line and adding a comment with their website and preferably an image.  It would be great for Hutt City if as many residents as possible could do the same with their family photos and stories about Hutt City weekends.

Comments can be made on anything you like just by finding the most appropriate sections.  There are dozens of categories to trawl through and include: weekends with the kids, the boys or the girls, shopping, wining and dining, walks, events, art and museums, romance and maori.  You name it; there will be section for it.

Hutt City needs everybody to go on line, register, log-in and comment through the reviews and photos tab.  Of course winning one of the great prizes would be a bonus too.  There is over $100,000 of domestic travel prizes to be one.

AA compiles their list of things to do through the New Zealand Regional Tourism Organisations.  Hutt City does not fall within one of these marketing organisations and therefore do not have representation on the 101 Must-Do Weekends.  Hutt City can still make a stand and get its name in every section of the AA promotion.

Hutt City has some amazing tourism products to brag about to the rest of New Zealand and we need to take advantage of this opportunity to do just that.

Christ Church

Christ Church

Christ Church was originally built by the 32 settler familities living in the Taita district, and soon became the focus of a growing community.  Today you can still read much of the history on the church's graves which bear the names of some of the district's pioneers - Boulcott, Mabey and of Manihera Matangi a Te Ati Awa chief.
