Jackson Street, Petone

Jackson Street is an amazing street which has a constant hum and appeal to everyone who goes there.

It's not surprising that Jackson Street is the Hutt Valley's number one visitor attraction!

Just one block back from the waterfront of Wellington Harbour, Jackson Street is filled with funky cafes, unique New Zealand focused galleries, eclectic shops you just won't find anywhere else in New Zealand and a history which is truly the start of the development of Wellington.

Getting to Jackson Street is easy. From Wellington you can catch a train to Petone Station or the Airport Flyer express bus departs every 15 minutes.  Or jump in your car and drive just 15 minutes north on state highway 2; and it's free parking when you get there!

Check out the recommended itinerary for a day in Petone and on Jackson Street.
