Family Activities

The Hutt Valley is a family friendly place to visit. If your family is looking for something active to do there are plenty of options to choose from, you can go swimming or indoor rock climbing, mountain biking or tramping! 
 

The Hutt Valley has sportsgrounds, swimming pools, parks and playgrounds for your family's enjoyment - take the opportunity to spend a few days discovering what the Hutt Valley has to offer.

 

Arranging a family get together? Why not take a picnic and spend the day at Rimutaka Forest Park exploring the great outdoors. Or maybe a trip on the East by West Ferry from Petone or Days Bay stopping off at  Matiu/Somes Island this is a great day excursion that the whole family will enjoy.  Or you could continue on and explore Wellington city attractions such as Te Papa, The Cable Car, Botanical Gardens.

There are seven swimming pools in the Hutt Valley, four of which are indoor and three outdoor. These swimming pools offer plenty of fun activities and facilities to ensure a fun day out.
