Maori Treasures - Hetet Legacy

Discover a treasured Maori art tradition that spans three generations.

This unique venue includes displays of Maori art and craft from artisans of the Hetet family, whose ancestors include eminent historical figures.  The family's traditional and contemporary work can be found on the walls of galleries throughout the world.

Maori Treasures - Hetet Legacy is positioned in a real Maori village; this is not a tourist attraction.

Nearby is the Waiwhetu Marae meeting house (whare) and across the road is the canoe (waka) house.  A visit to this area requires that you respect that this is where people live and that the experience does not include necessarily entering the buildings.

Maori Treasures - Hetet Legacy is open:

Tuesday - Sunday
10.00am - 4.00pm
