Unwearable celebrates 15 years of ideas and creation by Lisa Walker, a New Zealand jeweller who has forged an international career from Munich, Germany.
Having abandoned metal for the unpredictability of found materials, and eventually the jeweller’s concern for wearability, Walker avidly pursues possibilities and tantalising 'what-if's beyond the realm of practicality. Unwearable explores Walker’s energetic journey from the wearable to the non. While much of her work appears unwearable, the fact that we keep asking ourselves “what would happen if I put it on?” is central to her lively and provocative practice.
