Freedom camping
Hutt Valley has some excellent bush and stream camping areas; Catchpool and Kaitoke Regional Park provide excellent bush settings with a river running through them.  Freedom camping anywhere else is the Hutt Valley is not allowed.  For further information on these areas, contact one of two Hutt Valley i-SITE Visitor Centres.
