Getting Here

It is easy to get from Wellington to Hutt Valley with a 20km trip north of the capital by a range of transportation options.  Travel by rail, road or boat to the Hutt Valley - home to attractions that you simply must see during your visit!  From great coffee to awesome outdoor activities, art museums, and galleries with a sprinkling of arts and culture.

Wellington Region

Wellington is the capital of New Zealand.  Come and discover the magic it has to offer by visiting the many attractions including the Zoo, Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa) and be sure to check out the Cable Car and parliament buildings.

The Hutt Valley has two i-SITE Visitor Centres. They are your one stop shop for bookings and information about what to see and do around the Hutt Valley and throughout New Zealand.

Getting Around

The Hutt Valley has excellent public transport including trains, buses, taxis and ferries which combined will service every corner of the Wellington region including Wairarapa and the Kapiti Coast.
